Magnesium

Required for: Yield, sugar and juice content of the fruits

High deficiency risk: Acid sandy soils (pH < 6.0) and soils high in CaCO3

Deficiency symptoms: Yellowing between the veins of sun-exposed leaves, reduced fruit-set, browning of fruits tissue

Optimal leaf concentrations: Mg: 0.10-0.20%

Recommendations: For maintenance dressings 90-110 kg Kieserite/ha are recommended as maintenance dressing prior to sowing. For soils with a poor Mg status (fertility class A), 1.5-2.0 times the amounts are required.
